Management Team
Valerie is our design goddess. Valerie will tell you that her greatest accomplishment is her 3-year old daughter Hailey Faith who refers to 20 as the "polish office". Valerie has had a career and owned and operated her own firm in the Commercial Interior Design/Branding and Procurement Industry for the past 23 years working with clients such as The James Hotel, Westin, W Hotels, Marriott, Best Western, Indian Casino Groups and multiple National Franchise Chains across the country. She is also the master mind behind the 20 Lounge Brand. In 2006 after another bad day at the nail salon she began researching the Nail Industry in hopes of changing the experience for everyone! She learned that this 6 Billion dollar Industry was truly untapped on a national level. Val's determination and passion to create a better experience at a value gave birth to the 20 Lounge Nail Bar where "Beauty and Bubbly" is served daily.
Sheila is the COO/CMO of 20Lounge. A fashionista at heart with a love for good bubbly, Sheila has found her perfect home away from home. Fixated on creating a loung-y lifestyle brand that rocks, she brings tons of experience building and growing world-class brands. Sheila spent over 10 years in consumer products, with such firms as Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson and Foote Cone & Belding, where she was a Strategic Account Director. She founded Launch Pad 33, a go-to-market consulting firm specializing in new product & service development and launch. Sheila has worked with clients such as Disney, Hire a Hero and Lasik Plus. She credits her MBA from University of Chicgao and all the amazing people she met along the way, as the key to her success. (Sheila has also launched her own perfect little person – Alessandra!)

Brooke is the gal who makes everything go round and round and keeps the 20 team on track. As marketing manager, she works to keep the lounges running smooth like Butter. Brooke comes to 20 Lounge from the fabulous fashion industry, traveling the country as a National Sales Manager before settling back in her hometown of San Diego with her beloved Pekingese Helmut Lang. She adores all things bubbly.
Erica Kay another word for beauty guru around 20, she functions in a dual role as our Corporate Education Director and Lounge Director at of our San Diego store. Trained by top industry leaders, Aveda and Dr. Murad himself, she knows all things skin, nail and beauty related. With over 10 years of experience in the medical and cosmetic world's, she's hard to stump. A classically trained musician and speed waxer Erica can bring down the house and make it all smooth!
The Story of 20...
3 years after another less than stellar experience at a discount nail lounge, an idea was born… What if you could get a great experience, at a beautiful, clean place without paying spa prices? Especially clean and especially beautiful and how about fun and super affordable!
Let's talk about each of these ideas . . .
Clean – yes we can accomplish clean and we did by eliminating the jetted foot baths that carry all of that nasty bacteria that leads to fungus and other really bad stuff. Also, just like a surgeon, we autoclave all of our instruments between each and every use. Each client gets a sealed pack of sterilized instruments.
Beautiful – given that our founder is an Interior Designer with deep experience in gorgeous places llke the W Hotels, the Westin Spas and The James Hotels, with oodles to taste and access to beautiful finishes and furnishings, it was a no brainer that our stores rock!
Fun – well yes, fun was and is very important to us! You can read about what we believe and how we want that to come to life in our stores on our Manifesto. The Bubbly Bar is the essence of 20 fun - spinning the latest music videos, offering you a place at the (mani) bar and a glass of bubbly of your choice. Welcome to your favorite beauty BAR!
Super Affordable – we all know that the discount nails salons have turned this industry on its head over the last 20 years, well we are here to tell you that affordable luxury is the new standard! For just $20, $30 or $40 you can have a mani, pedi or facial with 5 star service from amazing Designers who believe in the 20 Mission of delivering great service at great prices! So if you love your experience at 20Lounge - get a little tip$y – and show them your love!
